Hello All,
We are almost 1 year into the development of Oversoul the game! I figured I'd jump on here and give an update of what's happening on Oversoul in the coming weeks. I think we can all agree new gameplay features is what Oversoul really needs. New characters can only go so far in an incomplete game. There's way over a 100+ characters in-game right now... Releasing all of these characters and not having any destination for them is frustrating to me as I know it can be to you players.

I have a great team and we are working towards adding new core gameplay features each week. Card customization is next in line it's the main focus for the coming weeks. I wish these features could happen faster but I have to let everything evolve as it needs to.

Part of the slow down has been the game breaking bugs that the coders have had to work on over the last couple of weeks. Not only battle desyncs but also server spam and hacks causing the whole system to become unstable.

I realize now the game would probably have been much easier to make if it weren't an MMORPG but playing online with friends is part of what will make Oversoul great.

I just want to say I appreciate you players that continue to believe in the potential Oversoul has. We have a small community and a small team but big dreams to make this game great! I will continue to give this game my very best work till my vision of what it should be becomes real!

Player Suggestion Contest!

Lets mix things up while we wait for the major game features. I want to get some player suggested characters into Oversoul. If you have and character suggestion or your own drawing you'd like put into the Oversoul World, do the following and I will choose a player's suggestion as inspiration to turn into an Oversoul character and put ingame.

1. Tweet your image to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] with the hashtag #oversoulcontest

2. In the description of your image, list your character's element and suggested speech bubble lines.

3. (Optional) List possible attack animations your character might have.

I'll choose my 4 favorites over the weekend and let you vote for the one you want most on the forum. I'll develop the 1st place and 2nd place entries and put them into Oversoul! This should keep things interesting while we wait for card customization. We'll start adding characters like this for a bit.

So you have something for next week, I'll also randomly choose an entry ( maybe two ) as inspiration to release this coming week!

What caught my attention is the player suggestion contest, while I am happy that people get a chance to get their own character implanted into the game, I'm a little scared of Nulgath will choose. Because it could be a character that everybody uses, like the Magma Armor in HS remember how crappy and overrated that was? I mean there could a server with people only using the newly drawn characters, and it would give the game a bad reputation in a way...

In the other hand, this contest could be beneficial and give birth to new dev/artists and it could give an increase in the female ratio in OS, and maybe even the new characters won't be so crappy and overused.

with jack frost being he lastest char thier are 105 chars all together (108 if you some how collect all the founder stages)

Yup, with the Lock Appearance feature. You can be let's say Jack Ice while maintaining Jack Frost's move set. But when you log out, you'll return to your current form like if you were at master rank. It doesn't work perfectly yet.

you know what would be nicer, with the apearence lock also came a deck lock...with charaters wh ohave more then one form means you can openly chose between decks if your rank is high enough....that way you dont have to level up so many charaters let alone collect so many

lock app was purposely set to troll, get a high lv then use apprentice form with all the big guys moves.

i do that a lot XD

i dont do that cause i find the first few forms as yuck

Yeah, I have a feeling there will be a new SG package promotion, the Void Reaper and the Black Dragon should go rare sometimes soon allowing for new character offers. But right now, I think Nulgath is going to choose two entries from his suggestion contest, two characters made by two random artists will be chosen and put into the game. As for the Ice Queen and Winter Goddess, they should be release with the two character entries. And who's the Grandfather of Time?

Nulgath Claus could like the Headless Horseman, was supposed to appear on Halloween but instead he appeared in debut of November. But this time would be after December and on the beginning of January.

No, Rev said on his twitter that Nulgath Claus won't be released. Neither will the Santa Warlic

probably because they resemble the originals too much an rev doesnt care lol
